http://www.ibuypower.com/

If you want to buy a pre-built computer from that website, watch what you get. I just checked one of the $750 "Value" systems and it doesn't come with an operating system (Windows) or a monitor. I didn't look at many of their higher-end machines, but it looks like you could build the same systems for quite a bit less. Just order the parts from Newegg.com and put it all together yourself (or ask a friend for help ). Under the DHAJ's Computers link, I've got a fairly high-end build priced out. I'm sure the prices are no where near current and it's probably a little more than you'd like to spend anyway.

Long story short, just come up with a budget. How much you'd like to spend and how much you can spend. Think about the games you're hoping to play. How long it'll be before you can upgrade parts. Things like that.

ok i c
i really dont nessisarily need a monitor because i can use my 32 inch tv(for now)but just in case i think my mom has a monitor she isnt using...
Also i did look at dhaj's computers but thats way to pricy for me im a cheapy(also i have to save up cuz i cant get a job...so b-days and such).
But if i made a budget and got the hardware and such would u put it together for me?(a friend)
Either way it will probably be awhile like june-ish because that equals b-day money.

I should probably revise that listing. It's too unrealistic.

Just let me know when you're about ready to take the plunge and we'll start getting prices and what not.

one reason i kinda want a new pc is because i was playing cod4 promod and there was just me and this other guy on the server, I had around 60 ping, nothing was going on in the background except xfire and steam, and i was on the lowest graphic settings avaliable and guess what my fps was!?

10-25! maybe 30 at the most!

Are you running Windows Vista or XP? Vista has a lot more overhead than XP, so if you downgrade you might get slightly better performance.

Until the next game comes out.

Seriously though, if you have the time or are able to, then you should consider downgrading to XP. You'll have a lot better game performance than Vista.

Check the CDs that came with your computer. A lot of them come with an XP Downgrade CD.

I usually try to stick with Intel processors. I've never had much luck with AMD.

Right now The Fish and Bread Trick is looking primarily for non-restoration druid healers. If you are looking to raid, please know that we are very full on mages, hunters, and warlocks. Raid slots are extremely limited for those classes.

However, all levels, classes, and races are very encouraged to join. Please join the CGN webpage and apply with the link below. The Guild Leader, Iorokan/Junataro, or an officer will be in touch with you shortly.

Our raid times are Tuesday and Thursday at 7 PM until around 10 PM server time (CST). Raids invitations are given out based on gear requirements of the instance, needed specs for the evening, and on a first come-first serve basis.

Please email the guild leader if you would like to speak with Iorokan and learn about the guild. If you are a Christian or someone looking for a family-friendly, pretty laid back atmosphere, and play on Ghostlands, consider joining this guild. We are currently involved in 10 man raids. As people join, we will look further into 25 man raids.

All classes are welcome to join our guild and have fun with us. We are about fun and good fellowship, not just not getting gear.
